About RoCAS

The Romanian Centre of African Studies (RoCAS) is a project dedicated to promoting knowledge and dialogue about Africa among Romanian students, researchers and professionals from different fields.

Through an interdisciplinary approach, RoCAS is designed as a hub for debate, news, opinion, research, opportunities, analysis, business, and monitoring. We therefore welcome collaborators interested in Africa from different countries and fields of inquiry.

Our mission is:

– to promote Africa’s cultural diversity and to facilitate the understanding of the African continent within the Romanian academic and professional environment;

– to serve as a platform that promotes African Socio-Economic and Developmental  evolution, and  enables Romanian engagement and access to professional opportunities resulting from this;

– to contribute to the development of Romanian-African relations

Our goals are:

– facilitate research (through contact with experts in African studies, scholars, African centres & institutes)

– offer expertise (enable contact with professionals from African Studies, consulting)

– strengthen Romanian-African relations

– enable access to opportunities in Africa (jobs, volunteering)

-support the African Diaspora in Romania (create a Club for the African Students  & Alumni in Romania)
